Advantages of a Managed SaaS Website

For many people, when it comes to websites, "WordPress" comes to mind. I mean, it's the CMS (content management system) that powers thirty-five percent (35%) of the sites on the world-wide-web. It has become so ubiquitous that clients frequently ask for it by name, and often times insist upon our building their websites on the popular open-source tool.

WSI agencies, and our development partners, certainly turn to Wordpress for many of our projects. It avails a wide variety of features and plugs ins, and is very adaptable to custom functionality enabling our development teams to deliver any solution imaginable.

However, there are drawbacks. Self-hosted platforms, like Wordpress, require ongoing maintenance and attention for software updates, security patches, hack-recovery, and so on. This requires your time (if you do it yourself) or your money (if you hire someone to do it).

Software as a Service

SaaS to the Rescue

Software as a Service (SaaS) is a concept where you pay a subscription fee for the software itself with technical support and upgrades bundled in. Notably, Adobe and Microsoft, among others, have moved to a SaaS model for their suite of software offerings. Popular D.I.Y website builders on the SaaS model include the likes of Wix and Squarespace.

Software as a Service

For most of our local business clients we use an awesome website builder designed especially for agencies, powered by Duda. This enables us to deliver fantastic websites - optimized to look great, and load fast, on all devices - quickly and efficiently.

What does this mean for our clients?

Fast, Secure, and Reliable

Hosted on AWS (the same servers as Amazon, Netflix, and Disney) and managed 24/7 by our SaaS provider, our clients can rest assured that their website will be accessible when their customers need it.

No Surprises!

As there are no updates, patches, or plug-ins to manage, our clients will never be presented with a bill for such extras. And although essentially un-hackable, in the event of such an occurrence, it is 100% on our SaaS provider to resolve such issues as part of the software/hosting agreement.

Lower Cost

Since we can deliver and maintain websites more efficiently, we can charge less for the technology and our clients can divert more of their budget into marketing tactics.

Google MUM
By Bruce McCaughan 04 Feb, 2022
MUM stands for Multitask Unified Model and is a search algorithm update by Google which uses AI (artificial intelligence) "designed to analyze and generate content as a human would". More simply, it should enable Google to better determine exactly what someone is searching for in order to get it right the first time.
